AI for Marine Perception

P1 program at the Pioneer Centre for AI — co-organizer

I am one of the organizers of the AI for Marine Perception P1 program at the Pioneer Centre for Artificial Intelligence (Denmark’s national AI research centre, hosted by DTU, AU, KU, ITU, and Aalborg University).

The program catalyzes interdisciplinary collaboration between researchers and practitioners working at the intersection of AI, marine science, and underwater robotics. Marine environments pose unique challenges — limited light, complex sound propagation, and highly dynamic conditions — that prevent the straightforward application of conventional AI. We identify shared research challenges, build community, and run workshops on topics such as multimodal learning, marine robotics autonomy, and environmental monitoring.
